Expecting a romantic getaway with work as a sideline, Madison Night accepts an assignment in Palm Springs with her hunky handyman/now boyfriend Hudson James.  But after spotting a body in the river the work vacation takes a bad turn. Madison is still dealing with PTSD and seeing a dead body and being mistrusted because the body can’t be found causes her to clash with her boyfriend’s brother-in-law and question herself.

The hint of a triangle drama continues even though she had to choose between two men in the previous book. Did she make the right choice? Well, Hudson, her boyfriend is a nice guy, but I kind of like Tex Allen as well. So, it will be interesting to see what the future will bring.

Again, the mid-century references will be fun for any enthusiast and Diane continues to create depth to these characters until we’re sitting on the edges of our seats waiting for her to write the next one!

“If you love Doris Day, you’ll love Madison Night, decorator extraordinaire. She specializes in restoring mid-century homes and designs, and her latest project involves abductions, murder and vengeance.” – Books for Avid Readers

“Diane Vallere…has a wonderful touch, bringing in the design elements and influences of the ’50s and ’60s era many of us hold dear while keeping a strong focus on what it means in modern times to be a woman in business for herself, starting over.” – Fresh Fiction

About the Author: “I grew up reading both Trixie Belden mysteries and Vogue magazine and learned how to spot a counterfeiting ring and accessorize a wardrobe. Now I use that knowledge to dream up plots for the Style & Error Mystery Series, the Mad for Mod Mystery Series, and the upcoming Fabric Store Series for Berkley Prime Crime. I still love accessories, only now some of them are accessories to murder. Fun Fact: I didn’t see my first Doris Day movie until I was 38 yrs old. It was Hitchcock’s THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH. I enjoyed Ms. Day’s performance so much I immediately rented Pillow Talk and Lover Come Back, and I was hooked!”

I want to thank Liz D Publicity & Promotions for providing me with a free copy for an honest review!
